The One Bloor West places 72 levels of Condos on top of the 8 level Luxury Shopping Mall, and wraps itself with a structural steel outside of its glass skin.

The Condo Tower would be Canada’s Tallest aside from CN Tower.

At ground level would be Retail and Restaurant space, reaching up through 8 levels and pierced by a Public Atrium; above that, a box above that, a box containing the tower’s mechanicals; and on top, a tower, about 9,000 square feet on each floor, of condo apartments. Below ground, the building would connect to the PATH system to the north, and also reach diagonally under the intersection of Yonge and Bloor to connect to the subway.

In a strong concession to the public realm, sidewalks around the building would be widened substantially, to at least five metres on Yonge and at least eight metres on Bloor. The public lobby, facing Bloor, would be a 40-metres-tall atrium that will evoke the strong urban space of New York’s Rockefeller Center.

The podium of The One promises to be a crystal casket of luxury delights. Visible and easily accessible from the street, its aquarium-like transparency will be in stark contrast to the fortress-brutalism of the Hudson Bay Centre, kitty corner to The One.

The One will make a mark.

This is Canada’s leading luxury marketplace, located in the busiest pedestrian and subway intersection in Toronto. With a combined total of 401, 250 subway riders per day, a 24-hour pedestrian volume of 51, 392 and a 24-hour vehicle volume of 31, 600, Yonge and Bloor is a shopping destination for people from across the city. Not only that, close to 30,000 people in high-income households live in an 800-meter radius. The site gives Mizrahi Developments maximum flexibility for the creation of a truly iconic structure with mixed-use components that will meet the demand for retail in this important neighbourhood where the vacancy rate is the lowest in the city. With underground access to Toronto’s main east-west and north-south subway lines, THE ONE will have multiple storeys of light-filled retail and commercial spaces – “jewel boxes” with walls of glass that are uninterrupted by supporting columns.

When you’re in the heart of midtown Toronto, steps away from flagship stores for high-end global brands, popular restaurants and cultural venues, the next best thing to being part of its street energy is being able to rise above it with the press of a button. You can leave it all behind and live in the serenity of the clouds in your own custom-designed sanctuary. Mizrahi Developments is a boutique firm, renowned for its passion for craftsmanship and details, those you can see and those you can’t, which create a soundproof retreat from the world, one that offers a sense of well-being and beauty. The views from here, stretching out to Lake Ontario, are unprecedented. THE ONE will be designed by Foster + Partners, one of the most innovative architectural firms in the world today, making it a memorable part of Toronto, a city that knows how to live.

Steps away from the most popular restaurants in Toronto, endless transit options and everything else you love about Toronto sits The One Condos. A brand new creation by Mizrahi developments and Foster-Partners. This promises to be a memorable part of Toronto.

These 544 suites will become the heart and soul of the city, sitting at a stunning 80 storeys tall, One Bloor St West will transform into a cultural hub bursting with street energy and endless opportunities for you to live, work, and play.

This building will become the second tallest in Canada next to the CN tower. The One is expected to have suites between 650 and 9000 sqft. Expected to launch in the Spring 2016, there will be no sharewalls meaning the consumer can customize their own unit. Amenities include 24/7 cleaning services, valet services, theatre rooms and much more.

Expect high-level retail at The One condos. World-class restaurants, fashion centres and other high-end retail tenants. The One will be a destination in the nexus of the city. The highest pedestrian count, vehicle count and the transit corner of Toronto, the One will be a destination in the public realm where all can congregate: similar to the Rockefeller Centre.

We reached out to the developer, Sam Mizrahi for more information on a project that allows you to customize your own floor plans:

” What we have is basically a format where we have units and then people can take those units, combine them and shape them. Do they want 750 square feet, do they want 1300 square feet, do they want 900, do they want 1500, do they want 600, do they want 3000, 5000, 6000, 9000, whatever it is, we can do that. And we’ve done it. And we’re able to do it because we don’t have sheer walls in this building. So, we can design, custom design around, because our box is really our floor plate, which is really 9500 square feet. Right? That’s our box. So, we can do whatever we want within that 9500 square feet floor plate, and give true customization the homeowners that they come in, and be able to do things that nobody else has really done. ”
